Spade Oak seeks to unlock the Gisborne NZ region’s potential, creating wines of quality from an eclectic selection of new and classic varieties. Our goal is to capture the soil, sunshine, passion, and labour of this beautiful region and put it into our wine.

Gisborne is best known for Chardonnay, and we pay tribute to the variety through our line of Spade Oak Co Ordinates wines, which has grown to include Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. Our hidden gem is the Le Champ Blanc de Blancs a chardonnay based bubbles. All grown right here in Gisborne!

Spade Oak Wines were made to be enjoyed with food and friends. Made from the best that Gisborne grapes can offer, our wines show the delicate touch of a master winemaker at work.

We do what feels good for the wine. All our wines are made with sustainably grown grapes in sustainably certified wineries and bottling facilities. We are committed to what makes sense for the wine and the land that is scientifically justified in the pursuit of making better wine. We feel deeply connected to the earth that the wines come from. We want the wines to express where they are grown, Gisborne, one of the most fertile plains on earth.
